This is true.

Why is your signature the writing on the wall? Just because, or?

i have the "mene mene tekel upharsin" quote as my signature because even though i am not religious, i like the way the sentence is mysterious and can be translated differently. like as you said, "the writing on the wall" or, the translation provided by Daniel in the book of Daniel, "thou art weighed in the balance and art found wanting"... i prefer the second translation because it's kind of ominous and if you actually read the story, its about getting what you deserve for your actions.... or "karma". which i wholeheartedly believe in.

long explanation... sorry.

No, I know it's not literally "the writing on the wall". Just meant as the source of the phrase. Only reason I recognize it is because I looked it up while writing a paper on Moby Dick last semester, and Moby Dick is ridiculously full of all kinds of references. It is an interesting story, though. For some reason it just sounds a lot cooler and creepier than, say, the plagues in Egypt and other stuff.

I'm not sure I either like or dislike myself enough to believe in karma. Or want to believe in it, or whatever.
